Pro Kabaddi 2018 Match 9: UP Yoddha vs Patna Pirates

The ninth match of Pro Kabaddi 2018 was between the UP Yoddhas and Patan Pirates. The Yoddhas could not pull out a win this time. The Patna Pirates had the last laugh. But the match was really intense. The game was decided a close score of 43-41.

The game was quite levelled at the beginning. It seemed to be going smoothly for both teams until the tenth minute of the second half. From there onwards, the Patna Pirates managed to create small gaps that helped the Pirates take away the match a sliver of 2 points.

Pradeep Narwal played an instrumental role in securing the victory for his team. He was consistent with his 25 raiding attempts. He got 16 points in total. His attack was well supported Deepak Narwal, who scored 7 points.

After their match with the Tamil Thalaivas, they were heavily criticised. That was mostly because of their weak and uncoordinated defense. But it looks like they have redeemed themselves. With the inclusion of Jawahar, who scored 5 points in the match, the team scored 11 tackle points, compared to the 7 tackle points amassed the Yoddhas.

The UP Yoddhas on the other hand, had more raid points. They were heavily let down their defence. They couldn’t manage to maintain the impeccable form that they showed in the match with the Tamil Thalaivas.

On the Yoddha’s side, Shrikant Jadhav was the top raider. He scored 12 points from 19 raids. He was supported well Captain, Rishank Devadiga and Prashant Kumar Rai, who scored 8 and 6 points, respectively.

The absence of Jeeva Kumar’s experience clearly showed on the field. The was a clear lack of leadership on the defensive front.

Pro Kabaddi 2018 will let the Pirates face off against UP Yoddhas again. They have to be careful as their victory was a very small margin. The Yoddhas will be out for revenge.
